Very often when I bump into one of my old acquaintance in the park or in the street, with great

enthusiasm she says: I call you tomorrow.

But we both know it is an empty promise.

..I know she would not call me tomorrow, because she has said it so many times before and very seldom has done it

And for her, it may be a comfortable way to finish a conversation.

Some people have no respect for the words they use, and the promises they make.

I wonder if they have ever realized that having no value for their words and promises, make

them unworthy of any trust.

I wish to complain about the behaviour of your ticket inspectors at Clapham Junction on the 24th of February 2006.

I arrived at the station at around 20:30 and had a dispute with the inspectors over the use of a pre paid oyster card, which, unknown to me, was not valid at Clapham Junction. The number on the penalty notice was 1162649.

The inspectors asked me for my name and address. In compliance with the Penalty Fare Rules 2002 I wrote down these details for them. They then asked me to show identity. I refused because there was nothing in the law that required me to do this. The inspectors could have used the electoral register to confirm these details if they so wished. The rules clearly state in paragraph 12 that the only requirement is for the passenger to give his name and address, there is no mention of proof being required.

However, the inspectors were rude, aggressive and intimidating. They held me against my will for thirty minutes and called the police because I did not show them identity. Despite numerous requests to be released they refused, even though they had my details. The Railways Act states that a passenger over the age of 15 can only be detained if they refuse to give sufficient details of their name and address. Once again, there is no mention of the requirement to show identification. I expect many passengers do not have identification to offer.

I believe your inspectors acted illegally by detaining me and I wish to be compensated for this and to receive an apology for this appalling behaviour...

Whingeit Traveling opens your eyes

I just came back from a great holiday in Prague. Impressed by its’ beautiful building, loved visiting stunning churches, and enjoyed walking through spectacular garden around castle on the top of the hill.

And was shocked by the price of transport.

We paid around £8.00 for a two week travel card, using metros, trams, and buses any-where.

The metros were clean, fast, and regular.

I just can not figure out why London transport with such a poor service is so expensive. Every-body seem to grumble about it, but seem no-body is doing any-thing about it. I deeply resent to pay so much for using public transport, but I do not much choice either

Upon checking the legislation, I was surprised to find that [Local Authority], or its agents, appear to be attempting to extort money from me in an unlawful manner. Please find enclosed an extract of the Bill of Rights Act 1689, enacted and formally entered into Statute following the Declaration of Rights 1689. I draw your attention to the section that I have highlighted:
"That all grants and promises of fines and forfeitures of particular persons before conviction are illegal and void".
This states that a conviction is necessary before a fine or forfeit can be imposed. As you will be aware, the Bill of Rights is a "constitutional statue" and may not be repealed impliedly. As stated in the "Metric Martyrs" Judgment in the Divisional Court (18th February 2002) by Lord Justice Laws and Mr Justice Crane (I will paraphrase, but have included a copy of the judgment's relevant sections 62 and 63):
62."We should recognise a hierarchy of Acts of Parliament: as it were 'ordinary' statutes and 'constitutional statutes.' The special status of constitutional statutes follows the special status of constitutional rights. Examples are the ... Bill of Rights 1689 ... 63. Ordinary statutes may be impliedly repealed. Constitutional statutes may not…"

I am not aware that the Road Traffic Act 1991 makes express reference to repealing the Bill of Rights Act 1689.

Therefore, it would appear that [Local Authority] and its agents have no lawful authority to demand money for an alleged infringement that has not been dealt with by a Court of Law. If you wish to proceed against me, please refer the matter to a Court of Law in an orderly fashion. Otherwise, the forfeit demanded of me is illegal and void.

Please also confirm to me in writing that you have advised the relevant officers of the Council and its agents that they are acting illegally by attempting to claim powers which are forbidden to them, and that all issuing of penalties is being done only after conviction by a Court of Law.
